Sketchbook Sunday 02: Empire Strikes Back.

As some of you might have noticed Kyle has been posting sketches each Sunday. I love this idea but have been remiss in my broseph duties and have not posted as frequently as I would have liked. You can see Kyle's last post here and see mine here.

So here is the deal, I am throwing down the gauntlet and opening up “Sketchbook Sunday” to everyone that posts on the PCS blog.

Back in the day we would hang out at Bob and Barbara's Lounge to listen to Nate Wiley and the Crowd Pleasers, toss a couple back and do some drawing. Many a Sunday night I would thumb through the sketchbooks of Jeff Kilpatrick, Kyle Margiotta, Andrew Hoffmann, Bob Dix and any of the other members that might be on hand.

The blog would be an awesome place to pick up where we left off with those nights at B&B's. Post your sketches, roughs, ideas, whatever.

Looking forward to seeing what everyone has been up to. Cheers!

Lineage, a webcomic

Hi PCS pals. Firstly, thanks so much for the invite to contribute to the blog. I've been reading it for a while and I've loved seeing all of your new work, sketches and jam pieces. I'm excited that my first post is about something so close to my heart. I've been quietly working on a comic with writer/bud Michael Taggart, only sharing it with a few close pals to get their opinions/thoughts. Mike and I have collaborated on lots of projects in the past and this is by far our most ambitious. The story revolves around a small cast of characters set in a new sci-fi universe, but reading the comic and checking out the website can describe it better than I can here.

I wanted to keep it under wraps until we had a good amount of backlogged pages, promising I would start making it public in the new year. With the coming of 2011 and 15 pages, we decided now was the time to start going public with our work. The project has allowed me to experiment with new ways of working and there is a lot to look forward to as it evolves.
The comic is drawn to fit the screen, and working horizontally has been a new experience itself.. I hope you check out the work and if you like the story so far, check out the website for updates every Wednesday by going to www.lineagecomic.com.

Included here is the intro scene. I hope you bunch of comic-savvy folks enjoy it.

Dino Stuff

Hi all,

I was invited to be in a Dinosaur themed show "The Age of Reptiles" soon to come in February, on the the 25th to be exact (by Mister Anthony Pedro) at Paradigm Gallery (2020 South street in Philly) and I kind of liked this warm up drawing for it. Thought I would share. I think his name will be Steggz-o Soreus.
